fOUNDED ON JULY 11 (sUMMER 2019)

Inspiration: Nowadays, around 72 million children in primary education age are not enrolled in school. Specifically, children in the middle east who are living in dangerous situations, risk their lives traveling miles in war zones just to learn. There was a need for providing the youth in the NYC community with a productive learning experience that would not only teach children how STEM innovations had impacted their lives but also how they could create innovations that could present solutions to modern problems. A indirect goal of our mission is also for these children to innovate and design solutions to the problems they had in their own countries when they grew up. We believe that by providing young children with a hands-on learning experience, they would be able to learn better and find their passion for STEM.

Progress: In our first year, we were able to teach 9 children at a local Queens Public Library. This is the second year of our program, and due to the COVID-19, we have developed an Online STEM Academy where students from all over the world can learn remotely and construct simple projects at home. We have offered 8 courses alone so far, and are offering 5 more courses in our TCSURGE 2.0 Initiative in January of 2021. We have also hosted 3 webinars so far, each with over 20 participants and planning to host more in the future. Finally, we have also started offering free 1 on 1 tutoring services for over 7 weeks.
